「生存をめぐるパラドックス―乳幼児死亡を軸としたタンザニア最貧困地域の比較研究」

本研究課題では、これまで筆者が生存維持による相互扶助関係に注目してきた地域（タンザニア南東部・中部、ザンジバル北ウングジャ）において、乳幼児死亡率が高いことに改めて着目し、そのパラドックスに取り組む。これまで乳幼児死亡の説明で活用されてきた直接的要因も踏まえつつ、社会構造等の間接的要因も各地域にて包括的に分析し、地域比較によりその固有性と普遍性を明らかにすることを目的とする。
